This one on one consulting is for the serious student or new practicing optician that is stuck and needs help. If you need hands on experience using and understanding the lensometor; we can help with that too. It is very important for you to be aggressive in your studies to get the most out of our tutoring and consulting sessions.


While learning terminology is largely rote memorization, the optical math requires breaking areas of concern into component parts and laying them out in a sequential process.

The ability to deconstruct word problems into their mathematical components, and in turn relate the identified components to associated optical math formulations is essential to being competitive. Proficiency is also required in related areas of problem associated metric conversions, and simple transposition.

Confidence derives from the competence developed in knowing how to approach  given problem, recognize what is being required, and knowing what tools are required to solve the problem for the desired answer.
